A few months ago I was added to a fb group. Typically I am slightly frustrated when somebody blindly adds me, (along with hundreds of their closest friends!) to a fb group without first asking if I want to be in it. And, I oftentimes find myself “leaving the group” because I’m so bombarded with all of the unwanted posts.
This time however was different. I saw the title and immediately thought.. “Wow, what a great idea!” I had thought back over my recent prayer times and honestly couldn’t remember the last time I really prayed for my husband. Yeah, I had uttered many a small frustrated prayers, all coming from my agenda of course! “Please God help him do this, please God help him do that.” ; ) But, I hadn’t really dove into what really matters.
So, that being said, I joyfully “joined the challenge”! And, every day I looked forward to the new prayer. Although they were small, they were meaningful and always wrapped with encouraging words from the authors (or maybe just the posters?) Either way, it was a delightful way to bring me back to what matters. And, honestly after seeing some of the struggles that many of the wives were having in their marriage, it really, really made me grateful for my husband and the blessing of our relationship.
And, not only that, I watched the group over 31 days sky rocket from only a few hundred members to over 17,000!!! As women were blessed through this experience, they continually added other friends. And, instead of leaving this group, I did the same… I couldn’t’ help but add some friends! Well, May is now over. In fact, it has been for a few days now. But, I believe we need to keep praying!
As I watch marriages disintegrating all over, I can’t help believe if those spouses had been praying for each other over the years, perhaps things would be different. That being said, I am starting over… the prayers that is! And, I encourage all of you ladies to unite together and help me stake a claim on the sanctity of marriages all over! Join me as I go back through this series.. 31 Days of Praying for Your Husband. 🙂
(And, yes I know some of the days are missing.. 🙁 On these days, the group organizer facilitated different conversations.. perhaps someday soon I’ll make my own and fill in the gaps! ;)) But, in the meantime, here you go!
