Dumela!! Or, should I say Greetings from Africa?!! No, I’m not in Africa now. But, on Monday, we got to visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. And, that’s probably the closest you’ll get to Africa.. in Florida anyway! The Animal Kingdom Lodge is built on an African theme. And, golly you gotta love the authenticity of it! All throughout the guestrooms and common areas you’ll find amazing handcrafted artwork. And, the Africans murals on the walls will make your jaw drop. As we walked through the resort, my husband Matt was mentally decorating his “Man Cave” with all the artifacts. 😉 And, if you are an animal lover, this is your paradise! Everywhere you look, you are surrounded by exotic wildlife. From tiny adorable bunny rabbits to huge commanding giraffes, this resort houses the most gorgeous animals. And, it just blesses your heart to watch them all live in harmony. 🙂 Now, I must admit, we were enthralled with the animals, so I didn’t snap a whole lot of pictures of anything else. But, rest assured this resort has enough amenities to make your head spin! At the Animal Kingdom Lodge you will find 7 onsite restaurants/bars, 2 places to shop for African treasures to take back home, 2 Pools, 2 Arcades, a Health Club, Massage and Fitness Center and the list goes on! You have Sports Courts, Barbeque Grills, Playgrounds… sheesh! I seriously think I could live here! But, I don’t think Disney will be selling any time soon, so for now we will just have to take mini-vacations here.. 😉 And, speaking of vacations, let’s talk rooms here. I totally recommend either the Savanna View or the Arusha View Rooms. These are the rooms that are backed up to all the animals. And, what’s so awesome is that different animals come out at different times. So, while you may have Giraffes outside your balcony in the morning, you’ll have Nyalas out in the afternoon! It almost makes you not even want to leave the room. The peace and tranquility that comes from quietly observing the wildlife while kicked back in a comfy chair is unexplainable. You must experience it for yourself! But, until you get to visit the Animal Kingdom Resort, enjoy the pictures below!!
Next stop.. Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort!
