I am reading a book right now that is challenging my thought process. And, it is changing the way I parent… for the better. You see… I never thought I would be a mom. Now, that is a looooong story I won’t get into now. But, let’s just say my friends who knew me before Eli, still can’t believe I’m a mama!! Never the less, God has divine wisdom and He knew better than us. And, we have been blessed with Eli and are soooo very grateful for him!! I say all of that to let you know… Although I have read a lot of books, I in no way shape or form read any parenting … [Read more...]
How to Live the Blessed Life
The other day, I learned a lesson that I will not forget. I left the house without having my normal “quiet time” aka Bible study and prayer. Yes, yes I know. Bad choice. You see, normally my days are exceedingly blessed. I have favor in all that I do and pretty much everywhere I go. And, I think that maybe I have taken that for granted in the past. Because this particular morning was a little different. I woke up later than normal because my son was at his grandparent’s house. And, we did not have appropriate breakfast provisions at the house. So, I had … [Read more...]
I Love to Brag (On God)!
Up until recently I thought it was being immodest for someone to tell others about their giving. But, my thought pattern has now changed. This past week I attended (online) the Southwest Believer’s Convention and one of the speakers was Jesse Duplantis. He is a well known preacher from Louisiana and a very successful businessman. I heard him speak for the first time last year, but was immediately drawn to his teaching. You see, he has been very blessed by God in his endeavors and has become a multi-millionaire. And, it is very common to hear him talk about … [Read more...]
Are you living in the Superficial or the Supernatural?
Is it me, or is the majority of society living a “superficial” life? Let me expound upon that statement by first explaining what superficial means. Superficial: concerned with or comprehending only what is on the surface or obvious: shallow; not profound or thorough: apparent rather than real. Have you ever only been “concerned with the obvious”? For me, that could be… Ok, the floor is dirty, so I must clean it. My son has a dirty diaper, so I must change it. The dog is waiting at the back door, so I must let him out. You know, the everyday … [Read more...]
Finding Favor in Everyday Life | Part 4
Hello sweet favored friend! How is life treating you? Or, perhaps I should ask how are you treating life? Interesting question. I wonder how people approach each day. Do some people wake up each day and dread what’s in front of them and therefore have a dreadful day? Or, do they wake up each day with a spring in their step and joy in their heart expecting the impossible to happen? Personally, I vote for the second option. Although I will admit it’s not always the easiest thing to do. But, I believe whatever we focus on in life we will get more of. So, I challenge … [Read more...]
Are Your Words Canceling Your Prayers?
Have you ever been in a spot in life, where you know something to be true, but then an event happens to reinforce the truth? That happened to me the other day. You see, I know full and well that when we pray, it is so important for our words to back up our prayers. In other words, we must “Pray and Say”. What most people do is “Pray and then still complain about the situation, like they never even prayed.” Ouch! That was harsh, I know. But, before you get mad at me, let me share with you a story and a little background information. My husband and I are on … [Read more...]
