Check this out… our God is Good! Scratch that.. our God is GREAT!!! Do you agree?
If your faith is a little shaky at the moment, hopefully it will steady out here in the next few paragraphs, as I share with you a couple stories of God’s Favor.
Favor Moment #1- This is an easy one. Does anyone out there have an electric payment due every month? Perhaps my lovely northern friends have a gas bill? Ours is typically in the $150 range. Not a big deal, but definitely significant. Well, guess what? We did not have a payment due in January!! Woohoo! Why? I have no idea. In fact, I just figured they made a mistake and would tack it onto February.
Nope. Actually February’s payment was lower than I had ever seen it! Now, I call that a Hallelujah Moment! 😉
Favor Moment #2- The other day my husband was working with his father on building a chicken coop. Nearby were my husband’s very expensive sunglasses. Apparently, while putting up a side panel, a large piece of sharp chicken wire hit the sunglasses and put a very large scratch on them. When I walked out to see how everything was going, I saw the ensuing anger on my husband’s face as he recanted the story.
I just stopped, picked up the glasses and said, “Thank You God for protecting Matt’s sunglasses!”
Do you know what happened next?
I looked at the sunglasses and…. NO SCRATCHES!! Seriously. They were as good as new. What was that? God’s Favor!!
Favor Moment #3- Last week I put a few small rugs outside on our front porch while I was mopping. When I finished, I decided to pick up all the rugs at once and bring them back indoors. (On a side note, I usually bring them in one by one.) Well, when I grabbed them, I noticed something black flash by. My first thought was a lizard was in them, so I set the pile down and just brought in the top one. As I walked back inside, a thought was impressed on me that no, it was not a lizard. It was a snake. Go get a broom.
I listened. I got a broom to check the bottom rug and sure enough there was a large black snake in my rug!! I of course freaked out and called my husband. Long story, short, I believe that was definitely God’s Favor which allowed me to see that quick black flash to alert me, NOT to bring the rugs inside! Thank You Jesus! That could’ve turned out pretty crazy.
Favor Moment #4- A couple weeks ago I stayed the night at my in-laws and didn’t sleep very well. I woke up with a headache and my brain felt very cloudy. Because of the setup, it’s not always conducive to keeping up with my normal morning “quiet times”, where I read my Bible and pray. But, this morning, I fought against the “I don’t feel like it” and the “there is no place to escape”. I went into the office and began reading and speaking God’s promises, when I was reminded that one of His promises is that of healing. So, I realized that I did NOT have to “accept” this headache.
So, what did I do? I used my words to cast that headache into the sea! I spoke God’s words on healing and accepted it as if it were already true. And, you know what?
My headache went away. Immediately. I walked out of that office, no longer feeling any mental fog. And, I had no more pain. Praise God!!
Favor Moment #5- I actually have 3 stories in regard to the next topic. But, to keep it short, I will only be sharing one. The other day, Eli and I were playing when I was chasing after him in the house. Well, he got a little too excited and I believe ran into the washing machine. 🙁 I did not see it happen, but it seems as if he hit his mouth. Because the next thing I remember is that I picked him up and blood started pouring out of the sides of his mouth!
We were by ourselves and I had never experienced anything like that before. I made a couple calls to seek advice, but it was evident that I needed to act right away. So, I put my hands on him and started Thanking God for healing Eli and keeping him safe. I continued to pray in the Spirit when all of a sudden the bleeding stopped and he stopped crying. What do I call that?
I call that a WOW. But, to break it down… God’s healing power. God’s Favor. Thank You Jesus!!
Golly, I could go on and on with amazing stories of God’s protection, God’s provision, God’s healing. We serve a Great God. And, His Favor is available to you!
